As of October 1, 2022, years of hard work in the AZ legislature paid off and inclusion of chiropractic care into AHCCCS for adults became official. The language in the AZ legislature includes services reimbursed under AHCCCS within the scope of chiropractic practice as defined by state law with a primary care referral. There are things you, as a provider, need to do if you want to participate in AHCCCS. The absolute first step, if you have not already, is to apply for an AHCCCS number by clicking here. The process is pretty straightforward and there are tutorial videos included on the website.

Once that process is done, AHCCCS has a form that is sent to the individual plans, basically letting them know that you have an interest in becoming a provider. That form and instructions can be found by clicking here.
In the meantime, look for the list of plans in your county and familiarize yourself with how to notify them, using the AzAHP form, that you’d like to be a provider in their network. Those plans can be found by clicking here.
